The War On Drugs.. Too Much??

I wrote a post awhile back about why I think Marijuana should be legal. I'm kind of on the fence about the whole war on drugs thing just because I think that people should be allowed to do what they want with their OWN body. I've never used anything harder than Marijuana and I never will but why should we be spending so much money and time on something that should be left up to each individual, when there are soooo many worse things in the world? There should be some stipulations such as not driving while under the influence and things like that.. but anyway.. as I said, I'm still on the fence about the whole thing.. but my point:

I recently read a story from my hometown (I still read my hometown newspaper every day) about a guy who was raided by the cops for drugs. He, his girlfriend, and his 3 year old daughter were sitting at the table when cops came busting through the door without announcing themselves. Their family dog did what any normal dog would do and attempted to protect his family. The cops shot 3 times in the house, killing the family dog and traumatizing the little girl. All for what? They found some weed and a bag of ammunition in the basement. The guy had a permit to carry concealed weapons but there were no weapons found. SO, the dog was killed and the little girl was traumatized all over some fucking weed! The whole situation pisses me off. The cops say that they did everything they were supposed to and they  never know what they are going to go into when they do a drug raid. First of all, if there is a report of drug use, shouldn't they investigate first to find out if their are children in the house and what exactly the situation is? Having a little bit of weed is nothing compared to running a drug cartel or slinging heroin. It was just fucking weed!

Anyway, this guy is trying to get his story out all over even getting the media involved. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this guy. First of all, he tries to act waaaayyy too hard and ghetto in this video. I even left a comment telling him that no one was going to take him seriously because of how he acts in the video, and that most people are just going to laugh at him. I actually saw his Facebook page and he thinks he is some pimp gansta rap muddafucka. Gross. Despite how he acts though, that doesn't mean what happened is right. This video shows his daughter who is obviously traumatized and hasn't even been able to stay in the house because of what happened. This is something that she will remember forever. Was it worth it??
