Home-os!

We are official home-os! Well, I mean, home-owners! Yeaahhh! We had the closing on Wednesday and it felt sooo good! My husband has been at the house every day trying to work on things. The upstairs needs finished but we have to wait for the new furnace and central air to be put in first, so he has just been trying to get everything ready so once that other stuff is done, they can just get the drywall up and we can start paining the kids' rooms. Ohhhh and I"m super happy because I wanted some kind of laminate flooring in the dining room, something that looked like hardwood floors because I love hardwood floors. Well, he pulled up a corner of the carpet today and there is beautiful perfect hardwood floor underneath! Woohoo!! That not only saves us some money, but it's exactly what I was wanting!

We have our nephew staying with us tonight. He's 23, sooo not a cute little boy, lol. He's staying with us because he's helping my husband work on the house, so it's just easier this way for now. I'm sitting in the dark blogging because I'm bored.

I'm officially on spring break from school.. a whole week off, yeah!! My only real plan is to start packing. Even though it's going to be a few months before we move in, I figured I can start packing up the things that aren't needed for now, since I can't do much in the new house yet.

The house has been the biggest thing in our lives lately. Kids are off of school this week as well, so that means I also get to sleep in... ahh, I love sleep! Who's with me?? I just don't get enough of it and I'm always exhausted. They are excited about the house, too. They want to help paint their own rooms, which may be.. scary giving them a paint brush and paint, but what the hell, it'll be fun, plus we will paint before we put the flooring down so wont have to worry about them getting it on the floor.

So much house talk, this must be incredibly boring to read this blog, eh??

This will be where I will be spending most of my time once we move in: our enclosed porch! Just imagine a bunch of kitties sitting in that big window, too... I'm sure that will be their favorite spot as well as mine!

Spring Flu and Parties.

Phew I love spring!! It's almost here, isnt it? Has been super beautiful the past 3 days, but mother nature is a bitch and is only teasing us because it's supposed to be back in the 40s next week. Booooooo!! I like going outdoors without having to wear a coat, and to have the car windows down, and to have the windows in the house open so that all of the gorgeous fresh air can come in and sweep away the ugly stinky germs!

Speaking of germs, a week ago I had the horriblest stomach flu. Woke up at like 3 am puking my guts out! Ended up being down for 5 days with that shit! What the Pluck? Then everyone else in my family caught it, too, except for my daughter. I'm assuming this means that she is just too evil to get overtaken by said germs? I would seriously like to strangle whoever it was that handed me these germs! Use hand sanitizer much?? I do and it still didn't help!

I have been going on a lot of shopping sprees lately.. for our new house! We officially close on the house this Wednesday at 10am! Weeeeeeeeee!! I can't wait, I'm just so excited, I've never owned anything as big as a house! Once we get moved in then I have to wait for all of the fixing up stuff to be done before we can start painting and decorating. I'm just going crazy sitting here waiting. Guess I will have to keep myself busy by packing. I said I wouldn't start packing until we have closed on the house, and it looks like that day is coming!

Once we get moved in, I really want to have a housewarming party, but I'm scared to because I'm worried no one will come! As I said in a previous post, I don't have a best friend any more.. most of the friends we do have... the suck. I don't want to plan one just to be disappointed by no one even bothering to show up. Maybe some of my friends from college will come? *sigh* My life is going good, I just need some GOOD friends in my life. When I say "good" friends, I mean friends that I can count it, and really talk to.. not just acquaintances. I have enough of those. Boring.

This is a photo I took a few weeks ago when hubby had a doctor's appointment in Columbus. It melts my heart to see a city like Columbus be sooo proud and supportive of their own... *wipes tear*

We Got It!

Yep, we got a house! It's not the one I originally posted about, though. That one ended up having a lot of foundation problems. The house we got was the very first house we looked at. I really liked it a lot but it needed a new furnace, and the upstairs was partially remodeled, so we would have had to finish the other half of it. Well, they ended up lowering the price significantly, so we made an offer and they took it! We didn't really expect them to accept it, but I guess the bank just wanted to get rid of it, so we got it!! I'm sooo excited. Now we are just waiting on the closing and then we can start working on it and get it ready to move into by the time the kids are out of school for the summer. The person who owned it before remodeled the downstairs and started remodeling the upstairs. Once we get the upstairs finished, it will almost be like a brand new house because everything will be remodeled! I'm soo fucking excited! I can't wait to get in there and paint and decorate!!The kids will have to change schools, but this school is a lot better. It's a small school, and they only have about 10 kids in every class, so they get a lot more attention and a helluva lot better education than where they are now!

My life is heading in a good direction right now. We are buying a house, which will be paid off btw, so no mortgages or house payments! I will be done with school at the end of July, then have to do an externship for another month (160 hours) and then I will be done with that and will hopefully be able to get a great job. I'm so excited about that, too! I love my Urinalysis and Microbiology class! I've learned how to perform a urinalysis exam, and tonight I learned how to take blood pressure and pulse. The B.P. thing is going to take a lot of practice though.

Another thing I have to look forward to is one of my great friends coming to visit me in June! She lives in Rhode Island, was even in our wedding, but I haven't seen her since 2008! Her and her friend are going to spend a long weekend with me and I can't wait! My life is lookin great!

So... this is a pic taken in our new house. Do you see the purple thing? There are no mirrors or windows close to the stairs. Just my luck, buy a haunted house! haha
