I had a job interview on Monday, FINALLY. I think it went well and I think I answered the questions well. Now, I have to just wait and see if I get called back for a second interview. She said that should be next week or maybe the week after. I'm keeping my fingers, toes and everything else crossed! I need this so bad. Our utilities are about to get shut off. I fucking hate the utility company here. I posted about this before, but we got help with it that month. Monday, the bitch from the utility company called and told us we had til Tuesday (the next day!) to pay three hundred and some dollars. My husband would get paid on Thursday, but they refused to wait two days until Thursday. She said if we didn't pay it by Tuesday, we would get a disconnect notice, and then we would have until the 29th to pay SEVEN hundred and some dollars. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but the first few months we lived here, they screwed us on the water bill. First month, they said we used 22,000 gallons and the second month 26,000, then the month after that it was only 2,000. When we went to the HEAP office (energy assistance), we showed the woman there the bill and she called our utility company and asked them what the Hell was going on. Her response was, "well, they just had a leak and must have gotten it fixed but are lying about it now". Why the fuck would we lie about that?? Just happens, that they were also putting in new water lines in town those same months. Hmm, does something sound fishy? Guess they decided to screw the new people by putting THEIR water bill on US. So anyway, back to my story. My husband tried talking to this lady, explaining our situation, that we have 3 young kids, he is on worker's compensation, and I'm job hunting but havent had any luck yet. Her response? "OH WELL" and she hung up on him. She REFUSED to work with us. They refuse to even give a shit! They run the gas, water, and electric, so if we can't come up with $700 by the 29th, EVERYTHING will be turned off! We called the PUCO, we called everywhere for help. This town has sanctioned themselves off, meaning that they are not governed by the state of Ohio. They are governed by themselves. So, none of the energy assistance programs apply and none of the laws apply (such as the law Ohio made a few years ago that electricity can't be turned off for low income people because a family's house caught on fire due to them having lit candles because their electric was off). PUCO said that no one can help us. They said that they have received numerous complaints about Deshler Utilities (yeah, I'm putting their name out there), but there is nothing they can do about it. The guy actually told us to sell our house and move out of this town! I mean, WTF are we supposed to do? We can't live here with no electric, heat, or water! We have no where else to go, we can't even afford to live in a hotel! There is no way we can come up with $700. My husband is supposed to go back to work at the end of this month. Even if I got a job TOMORROW, I wouldn't be paid in time! We can't borrow it from anyone. I mean, I'm screaming WHAT THE FUCK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO??????????????? And these people just don't fucking care. It's not like we are just some low life lazy asses that don't want to work or pay their bills. People fall on hard times, and we have! I KNOW eventually things will turn around once we both get back to work, but what about NOW? I actually emailed the local TV station about this, but haven't heard anything back. LMAO, I'm so desperate, I thought about making a page asking for donations. I feel like a piece of crap; like the lowest of the low. It's embarrassing.
That's the jist of my life right now. Getting over being sick, hoping for a job, and trying to figure out how the crap to come up with that much money. WOW, the holidays are going to be freakin wonderful this year. I just want to crawl in a hole and cry somewhere.
